Established in 2004, Light Electric Vehicles is the UK's longest established ebike specialist.. We began by selling a range of ebikes manufactured in the far east - business was brisk, but we soon learned that "built-to-a-price" machines weren’t up to the job - they proved unreliable and lacked performance so we stopped selling them.
We got on a boat to Holland and had a good long look at what the Dutch were doing. The cheese isn't up to much but the quality of their clogs, windmills and bicycles is second to none. The largest Dutch ebike manufacturer is SPARTA. We very impressed with their management, the quality of their ebikes and the staff that build them.
The Mercedes of ebikes, Sparta's have proved a big hit with all our clients: from 20 year olds looking for a cost effective and fun way to whiz effortlessly through London's rush hour, to mothers avoiding the school run jam, and grandfathers getting to the pub after an busy morning on the allotment.
Next on our list was another Dutch brand: KOGAMIYATA. Regarded as the Bentley of ebikes Kogas' are a first class machine that exudes a level of quality and refinement fit for a King - or Queen!
FLYER are the latest addition to our range. These innovative and stylish Swiss-built machines are utterly dependable. If you fancy crossing the Alps or simply need pull a tree stump out, a Flyer is the thing.
Test rides are FREE. You're most welcome to whiz up and down the road outside our 450m2 showroom, but Dutch and Swiss quality do not come cheap and you need to be sure of your purchase, so we would prefer you to go further a field: Much better to take one of our demo bikes out for a morning or afternoon and explore the surrounding country lanes and coastal bridal paths. This way you can make an informed decision based on your experience. Bring a friend, bring a picnic, make a day or a weekend of it ! Make it FUN !
